I seriously fell off the wagon food wise today! We took the bus into Skala and the fabulous local ice-cream was calling my name! To make matters worse, at dinner the waiter brought fries with my pork dish and I demolished them! Right, confession over, and will be right back on track from tomorrow as I feel so bloated after carbing out!

My hubby said the ice cream was delicious in Skala. I avoided that but not the walnut cake soaked in syrup! Aren't the fries good in Kefalonia? Nearly everywhere makes them from fresh potatoes. What did you think of Skala?

Hi Doobrie, we both like Skala, having stayed there the last two weeks in September for the last two years. We like it quiet so wouldn't go later in mid season, but May and September are lovely times to go. We stayed right up the hill and needed torches at night but the stars and constellations were amazing! Yesterday it was fairly quiet and we had a little rain. Hoping to come back end of September for my husband's 70th!

Lol Anne - I've just written a journal saying that we've booked a second holiday in Kefalonia for end of September/early October, so we'll be back on the island at the same time as you again. We're staying between Lassi and Argostoli this time - our favourite places.

We hope to stay at Karavolymos which is between Sami and Agia Efimia from 25th September to 9th October! We love Argostoli and park at one end and walk to the other, then on to the Fanari road, have a dip in the see and walk back, it's so quiet and beautiful!
