when we are staying at hotel with breakfast, I usually have hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, and maybe some breakfast meat. Not sure what type of WOE you're doing, but if keep with real food as opposed to anything processed, you can more easily stay on track and readjust after you're home.

bring comfortable walking shoes and walk as much as possible, try not to eat late, you can still make healthy choices.

I don't drink so thats not an issue, a glass of wine now and again. My ex was a bad drunk, so was his mom. My kids seen that and its traumatized them. So i choose to give up alcohol completely for them when they were young, plus my aunt, 2 uncles, and dad had problems with it. So I've always been cautious. I'm doing 1500 calorie diet, trying to stay away from sugar as much as possible. The fast food is really what concerns me, has anyone found any fast food chains that offer diet friendly options?

You can have them leave the bun off of your sandwiches. I love Carl Jr. sandwiches without buns. They wrap the meat in lettuce leaves. Drink water of ice tea for low calorie drinks. Have a great vacation :-)

I was in Puerto Rico at the beginning of May for my birthday and I had started dieting in April and surprisingly I did good in PR and stayed on my diet and enjoyed myself. I didn’t overdo it at all, just stay focused and strong you can do it!!

Ok so go bunless, stay focused, walk as much as possible, try not to drink calories. I can do these things. I thought about taking some mason jars and packing me some healthy choices. Like fruit and yogurt, maybe some salads. I've never done salad in a jar. I'm sure it would travel in a cooler well, and be easy to eat n a car. But how do u keep the lettuce and spinach from getting slimy?

Stop at the grocery store instead of fast food restaurants. Grab healthy snacks, make your own deli sandwiches with some fruit. It takes more time, but worth it

Try to pick only whole foods, not processed. Most complimentary breakfasts have some fruit which would be better than anything with flour and chemicals in it. You can really work off some calories with swimming. Of course, walking is always good. Its family get togethers that can be hardest on a WOE. As long as you don't stray too far it should be easy to drop any gain in pounds. Good luck!! Its your vacation so have lots of fun!!

This is also where your best portion control ability comes into play. Evalua the choices being offered, and try to make a good decision. From my perspective, the goal would not be so much about loosing weight on this vacation but in doing damage control by not negating what you have accomplished thus far. Stay active. Do not drink your calories. Not only are alcoholic beverages calorie dense but they make you less able to make the better choices that you want to. Good luck! Rooting for you.

Portion control - I will eat one main meal each day, and then just small snacks, minimize alcohol. Lots of water. Enjoy the visiting - not the food

You got it. Those snacks add up really fast though

Try to stay active as much as you can. Go for a walking in the morning before your breakfast, that will help you not to lose focus. 💪🏻🏃‍♀️

For quick eating, think ahead...what an you carry with you that is good for you? Granola bars? Gorp with nuts and dried fruit? a piece of fruit? Cheese? Avoid getting a sack of tootsie rolls to keep between the seats of the car, or stopping for the tempting ice cream cones dipped in something at the Dairy Queen. Carry a couple 12-packs of unsweetened fizzwater...get a couple different flavors and have sufficient in a little cooler with ice for the day--take the ice from the motel. Carry a thermos for coffee from the motel--ask them to fill it for you. Or tea. If you have minifridge, make up tea ahead of time and cool it for iced tea for the thermos. Bring along containers to use in the fridge for cooling the tea. Restaurants are now featuring good salads. You can also buy green salad packaged at the grocery or even at some pizza take out places--Papa Murphy? Bring along your best choice for salad dressing so you don't feel like a martyr. I like getting groc. store rotisserie chicken for quick meals when on the road--get plenty of napkins and bring along a knife to cut it up. Better for you than fried chicken.

If you are looking for lunch on the road and have Jimmy Johns in the area you can order an “Unwich” - basically any of their sandwiches done without bread in a lettuce wrap instead. I love them!
