Haven't had a bowel movement for a week. Guess the body is able to absorb all I eat.

I’m one of those odd ducks that go 1-3 times a week rather than 1-3 times a day. Dr had me try softeners which didn’t work. One surgeon had me take a laxative before surgery and guess what... there just wasn’t that much there once it came out. He said my digestive system must be very efficient and used almost everything solid that I put in it. We also found out that the whole bottle of stuff will have me getting sick as well so no more of that before surgery! He said it was more than likely because I didn’t have anything to push out so everything kept cramping until every single thing was out of my system including bile. Not fun for sure. I’d rather just not go for a week ;). BUT when I first started my diet oddly enough I went almost daily for a month. Then back to 1-3 times a week.

I hear it is not uncommon with my current menu. The food I eat turn into a fibre free liquid in my stomach, so I am in reality doing liquid fasting. On Keto I went every morning, I suspect all the Chloride I got from my salt loading, has increased my ability to break the food into liquid. Have no discomfort, and it feels like several more days will pass before I can go. Kind of strange.

experiencing the same. I’m surprised I don’t feel terrible from not going all week. And when I tinally do go it barely anything. I’m in my 5th week so I’m come to accept it

Same dawnie! I’m usually thinking ‘why did I bother?’ My 3 yr old goes more than I do(she insists on showing me lol)-more often and more each time. Yet she eats less than half the calories I do.

peeperjj and CrashtestDawnie. Appreciate knowing I'm not alone. Read several stories about fibre do more harm than good. Many use a fibre free diet to heal their intestines. I used to have a chronic gut discomfort, so I wanted to give this a go. Came to think of it, I have completely forgotten that I have a gut. Dicomfort gone. Strange how healing sneak in almost unnoticeable.

Katihart20, do you add the chia seeds to food? Or just down them?

MJMoco- I usually add them to overnight oatmeal so they get a chance to soak. I add them to yogurt and berries too.

Dates are the best way to go and some cranberry juice

3/4 coconut milk or almond, 1/4 cup heavy whipped cream and 2 TBS black chia seeds. 1/2 tsp vanilla. Mix let sit for 5 mins and then mix again and refrigerate. I usually do mine over night. Used to add berries on top now just almond slivers.

I’m self diagnosed lactose intolerant. Milk and ice cream make me go. Discomfort and gas isn’t really worth unless necessary though. I save ice cream treats for when I really need to go lol.

Lots of good tips here. I live with a promise of becoming regular with time. The diet I'm on is extraordinary strict. No oils, nothing from the plant kingdom, no supplements. Feel naughty when I have one little bite of a Kiwi. Will see how it goes. Certainly will set a new record in days between. Feel fine, so it doesn't worry me.

Peppermint tea or ginger tea might work for you. I sip mine with no additives. Of course if you want really fast results and don't mind cramping, you could try sugar free candy. Those sugar alcohols do a number on me :)

2 to 4 oz of aloe vera juice a day will really help. its delicious too! some people might not like it but I love it. you can find them in the Hispanic isle normally at Wal-Mart or at most small convenient stores.
