I am 6 weeks post-op from having a laproscopic RNY bypass on January 29, 2008. So far I can see that the surgery does help a lot but of course I have to have the right mindset and choose the right foods. It is a challenge to follow the modified diet required by the surgery as there is mostly soft and liquidy food allowed. No raw veggies or fruits...

Able to stay away from simple carbs pretty easily but am uncomfortable about the number of foods I am supposed to have in my diet right now that contain a sugar substitute - it appears almost impossible to avoid it. Splenda appears to be the substitute that post-bariatric-surgery specialty food use.

Today I get an official weight from the surgeon's office...
