Did you just start? the most important factor is to keep carbs low. If you go a bit over on protein it is not too bad. To lower portein consumption you should up your fat consumption. So some extra fat with your meals to take the place of the protein you may be missing

Oh ok yeah I was thinking if most eating meat daily how would I keep protein low. So def' increase fat. And yep started 4 days ago. Feeling pretty good. I heard and read up a bit about the keto flu so hoping I don't get that. I read to keep hydrated so I do drink a lot of water. It's an interesting diet. I find myself learning more about food and the body then ever before and it's exciting.

Protein will only help. It will help you retain more lean mass, and have a higher calorie burn. What's not to like?

So the theory about protein is that some excess protein can be turned into sugar (well I am grossly oversimlifying) but that is the general idea put forward and since keto people want to limit sugar then it makes sense to be careful with protein. You should definitely eat enough to maintain your lean body mass.
