Was doing well, but yesterday received bad news from my daughter re my almost 4 year old, adopted chinese grandaughter/angel: She was taken to her dr. yesterday and has signs of kidney disease.
Blood tests and others were taken right away. How serious? They must speak to specialist and take it from there. They have an appointment today and I am waiting and waiting for telephone call. Because we don't really know about her genetics, we can't put our finger on whether she is genetically predisposed; she is badly swollen, and this was the reason for the emergency visit to the Dr. yesterday.Blah Blah Blah: Just heard from daughter.
Dr. says that 60% of these cases go on for a few years and then disappear. Nothing about genetics. Good thing is that this is a primary condition not caused by another disease such as diabetes, etc. He started her on a course of treatment and said not to think about if she doesn't fall into the 60%; they will face that IF they have to. So, we are all a bit relieved for now...She is in the hands of an excellent physician!

No matter how peaceful things get *something* always comes up. Keeping oneself a bit detached from it all and not worrying is an important art that we all need to master. I sure hope your daughter feels better soon SusieQ.

gosh, what a scare... but now they have a start on it, and are treating it. Hope she gets better soon.

That is so scary. I will be praying for her! It's good they caught it early though, I hope it goes away on its own!

Thanks guys: Good advice-good they found it early, and good for me to stand back and not worry so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Positive Attitude! (that's not usually me)....
