Does anybody know that it’s possible to cook broccoli 🥦 in microwave??? It’s so easy and quick!!! Just put broccoli in ziplock (leave a small hole for air), put in microwave for 2-3 minutes and voila!!!

I’ve heard you can. I personally just use my small pot with 1/4” of water in the bottom in the stove. It’s only for me as the family doesn’t like steamed broccoli. As I make their plates I let my broccoli cook and it’s done right when I make my plate. It works for me but I know my friends and family prefer the microwave whenever possible. I’ll pass your baggie idea along. Thanks for sharing!

You’re welcome))) earlier I boiled broccoli a couple of minutes, but for me also a problem not to overcook it, because I like broccoli when it a bit crunchy. And in microwave it’s the ideal variant)

Life hacks like these are great for people like myself, I work on the road alot and don't often have access to a stove top and saucepans but generally can get to a microwave 👍

I like mine more soft with just a bit of crunch still. Not much. Basically about one minute after it turns dark green lol. It is hard to cook it just right though. Kids like theirs complete mush 😳.

I put some in a bowl with a tiny bit of water. It basically steams it. I'd only be worried about stuff in the plastic bag leeching out into the broccoli 🥦.. Is that a thing?

Cb1006. I was also thinking about it ... on the one side it’s probably not the best way to cook it... but on the other — it’s only about 2 minuets, do you think it could be harmful? Anyway I try today to cook it in a bowl;)

Supposedly some plastics leach toxins. However just a few short years ago eggs were supposedly really harmful to our health. You never know what to believe anymore. Why don’t they just make all food plastics with the food grade plastic like baby bottles are made of.

I microwave broccoli and many other veggies in a small Pyrex dish with a lid. A little added spoonful of water and they steam perfectly in a minute or two. I like a bit of crunch left, hate mushy but adjusting the time to your fav is easy. I have not cooked any veggies by boiling them in years.
