abbadabba's Journal, 15 Jun 10

Ah, sometimes things work out! I went to work reluctantly tonight, but then there was no one working! The Boston police officer who was supposed to direct traffic did not show up, since the police were on guard around the downtown area in anticipation of overzealous revelers after the Celtics game. So, I got to go home early.

Now I am hanging with my daughter and the sleepy birds. They don't like being up late (the birds) and they try to sleep with the light on but they don't like it!

I had a little stomach bug today but it kept my calories low!

Paperwork for the divorce will be filed next week - I hope I can settle down after that, the changes have made me constantly anxious!

This weekend should be relaxing - Friday swim party at a hotel, and then Saturday is the big fundraiser party at the historic house - I will have a new pic from that! I decided to add a mauve skirt to the outfit, instead of the skirt with the huge train. Then I will have to help clean up on Sunday.

This week I have a dinner out with a former work colleague - I am dreading it, as he is going through a divorce as well, and I think we'll basically be venting about the process and our exes-to-be. Honestly, I don't want to go. I guess it will be fine - I just don't look forward to the company.

I hope your Wednesday seems like it will be more fun than mine!

The pool party soundsln fun. I wish I had a pool. It was great that you got out of work early. If you don't want to go to the dinner why don't you just reschedule until you feel up to it? Have a good day!

It sounds like an interesting week for you. I'm sure any extended conversations about the divorce procedure are enough to make you feel exhausted in advance. Maybe it would be best to avoid the subject altogether and just enjoy each other's company. Have a good one abba.

Unfortunately the Celtics were not on their game last night. But it worked out for you. Yes, please post party pics. Maybe the talk with the former colleague will be better than you hoped. I often dread things like that, but lots of times I end up enjoying having someone to talk to. Sometimes it's good to talk to someone who isn't a close friend and doesn't know all the details. Sometimes it helps you see a different side of things, or get a different perspective. But it does sound good that the papers will be filed. I imagine that would let you breathe a little easier.

Sounds like your life is busy, with lots of emotional stuff to process. Hope you take time for yourself and enjoy the blessing in your life. Cheers!

I am sure the anxiety will ease once things are finalized with the divorce. I know it sure was a sigh of relief for me once it was done and over with. There are other things that will pop up from time to time but you will feel more able to handle them once things are in place for you. Have a lovely time at the party and if you truly do not wish to go to the dinner then cancel! Life is too short not to do things you absolutely love! Please know you are in my thoughts and I am sending lots of positive vibes your way! {{{{{hugs}}}}
