I'm determined to make this week a good one, despite the fact that Aunt Flo is due to arrive again on Friday...Already??? How did that happen????

This morning didnt' start to plan when my son seemed a bit unwell. He is still full of a cold and I wasn't sure whether or not he would be best in school at home. ANywa, he had his meds and he's gone to school. I felt a little bad but I think he's better off there - I'm sure he's forgotten he's got a cold while he's playing with his friends! With all the palava I didn't have time for breakfast and was meeting a friend for coffee in the supermarket cafe this morning. I'm glad it was the supermarket and not cafe nero as my food choices were a whole lot easier! I avoided the cooked items - lovely though they looked - and opted for cornflakes and milk so I was proud to have stayed on track despite the change in plan.

I've got soup in the fridge for lunch, I made the sweet potato and chilli last Friday and there is still some left :) Tonight I think I am going to try making the curry......I'll see what I fancy having a go at! Either curry, laksa or chilli! I could eat them all!

I've just spent half an hour hoovering the car in the hope that someone will buy it soon!!!!! Only 3 days until I am carless!!

Hope everyone has a marvellous monday!

Good for you for not letting Aunt Flo's imminent arrival break your determination! I will have to follow your lead as she is expected to make an appearance in my house sometime soon as well (although her schedule has been a bit eratic lately!). Colds always make you feel worse in the morning so I am sure your son will be fine at school. I know how easy it is to worry over them. Mine is 16 and very capable of looking after herself but I still cluck about like the mother hen that I am when she's sick. I had to google "palava", another new word for my vocabulary (for everyone else who didn't know it either, it means "talk, parley, discussion"). Way to go making the smart choice for breakfast. I see you are keeping your promise to yourself to stay away from bread, so even better! Your mention of your sweet potato and chili soup made my tastebuds do a little dance. Maybe I have time to make another pot myself before the weather gets too warm! It IS supppose to be rather miserable here this week, sooooo.....

Great breakfast choices at the cafe :D And delicious-sounding menu items as per usual Yes, by the way, I'd love to try your potato-leek recipe, thanks!) Love the new word palava and I'm glad Evelyn looked it up, because I'm a little short on minutes this morning. Regarding, dear aunt flo...since it drove me completely insane with 3 extra pounds of nothing last time, I've taken to writing my weight on the calendar along with a 1 (on her day of arrival), 2, 3, etc. and colour-coded in red on certain days, so see if the same silly water-weight jumps back on next time. So far, results show that days 5-15 seem to be brilliant days for losing, which I'll cling to when the dreaded bloody nuisance shows up again.
