And it was pure fat since keto is terrible for gaining weight when lifting. A large percentage will be pure fat.

srossca Love it. I was slack with proteins a few days ago, and for the first time in a long time I got to experience muscle pain after exercise. Had nearly forgotten how sore muscle felt like.

clintbox I really enjoyed reading your comment. I find this true for me too. Very recently I got out of Ketosis, due to several birthday celebrations. Yesterday I told myself to eat myself painfully full on proteins, to stop that nagging hunger and craving. Today I loose weight.

Keto isn't for everyone and everyone shouldn't stay strict Keto once they hit goal. Figure out what works best for your individual needs. I seriously don't understand why people argue.

Yep, I have to go back in for more blood work because I was dehydrated on my first visit but all numbers were good besides the ones that were affected by dehydration. I was on the lowest end of cardiovascular issues despite my diet. Exercise and a healthy body composition are key to health.

I misunderstood and didn't eat or drink for 12 hours prior to the bloodwork. I'm just so happy I can keep forgoing vegetables, lol! I'll post my numbers on the 20th.

You weren't using the diet the way it's supposed to be used, and that, also, isn't an argument.

@the_cutting_machine you’re welcome. I’d have to understand more about each individual that it didn’t work for, and their eating habits. One common problem with food in our country is that labels are frequently wrong, and even though they’re required, they’re not regulated for accuracy. 0g carbs isn’t always true, and online food databases are guilty too. For instance, Costco St Louis ribs show as 0g, but their ingredients list sugar as one of the first ingredients after pork. Also, people don’t always accurately log what they consume. Also, like someone else pointed out, everyone is a little different.

He didn't know improving your body composition was a bad idea on keto until he tried it. Not sure why he would know that until he tried it. By your post, it seems you agree. Sounds like a diet to stay away from if you want to optimally improve your muscle to fat ratio. Isn't that a goal of yours, Diddlee?

I'm a little confused by the comments about gaining weight on keto. Being in ketosis is defined as the burning of fat. Ketones are the byproduct of fat-burning. If you are gaining weight, you're not burning fat, so you wouldn't be in ketosis. I suppose if you are just eating a lot of fat and protein calories you could say you're 'doing keto', but if you're gaining weight you wouldn't be in ketosis. You can always eat too much and gain weight, but that would kill the ketosis, so what's the point of eating keto if you're going to overeat and gain weight.

Since you were doing keto I would think you would know how it's supposed to be used, unless you didn't do any actual research and were just going along hit and miss. I would suggest you pick a text and actually read how it's supposed to be done instead of going by what you might pick up piecemeal. Eating low-carb is NOT necessarily keto, and piss sticks a waste of time and money.

chrisw77 Blame it on the dairy. I haven't seen any having good luck with that, apart from those who have a coffee with a little dairy as the only meal for breakfast. Then go 9n for a several hours fast after. Potent stuff that dairy.

Keto means you burn dietary fat and maybe body fat for energy if you're in a deficit. If you're not in a deficit you only burn dietary fat and if you're in a surplus you will gain more body fat than you had previously.

You force your body to use an inferior energy source and if you eat too much of it, you don't end up with a net fat loss. What does it mean to you?
