I'm getting discouraged at my lack of weight loss this week. I haven't even wanted to record my weight because its just not going down like I had expected. I suspect this is similar to a couple weeks ago when I realized that my exercise was stalling my weight loss, but this time I think its my super low calorie intake that's the culprit. Also, I really don't like that most of my calories end up happening at night, it just feels like a bad idea. I don't like feeling hungry so much earlier in the day and then feeling so stuffed and trying to pack in the last bit of calories at the end of the day. I'm going to try to shift the balance today and eat more calories AND add some exercise.

I joined a walk yourself skinny challenge and I'm hoping I can try to either go for regular walks or at least use my elliptical machine. Its just tough to make this whole process work when I feel like I'm trying SO hard to keep my calories under control, I even started Medifast which is supposed to have awesome results, and its just not working for me. I know my mom used to complain that diets didn't work for her and I was thinking if she could do what I was doing (which was working at first) then she should be able to lose too. Maybe its really just genetic? I still refuse to believe that I cant change. I just wish I knew more about how to make this whole calorie counting thing work for me. It boggles the mind that MORE calories can help me lose weight. At this point I'll settle for 2lbs per week... this week was closer to just 1.

I'm going to try to add more healthy snacks and condiments to my meals. I think I'm also going to try to take more of my fish oil (omega 3) supplements. I've only been getting one in each day and it says to take 3 per day. I take so many pills its hard to remember to take more at different times a day. I'm just working on building all the healthy habits into my day so its not as painful of a process.

Overall I'm not too thrilled with Medifast. I guess given my current status as a stay at home mom, I feel like I could really prepare my own food and it would taste MUCH better. There's something that they put in some of their bars and shakes and puddings for nutritional value that doesn't taste good to me. It's disappointing due to the high cost of Medifast and also considering how excited I was about this whole process.

Look, Medifast gives you the tools and you have to work them. I change my meals all the time. I add a lil of this and a lil of that to help them to taste better and I put my foot in my lean and green meals. But overall it is a journey that you have to go on. Just because your weight loss is not going the way you want this week, don't quit because the next week will be different. I once gained a pound on medifast (crazyness) then loss 5 the next week. Different things could be happening with your body that you don't know. Measure yourself to see your true difference and keep at it because if you do you just HAVE to LOSE.
