I am so excited. For the first time in my life I jogged/ran 1 mile without stopping! It took me 10 min. and 52 sec. I have never done that before. My lungs always stop me. But yesterday I pushed myself like I have never pushed before. It helped that my husband was with me. We have that little competition going on. We didn't get to run outside last night because it was too humid, so we stayed inside and used the treadmill. He did really well too. For just having foot surgery a month ago, he ran a mile in 9 min. 58. sec. My butt hurts today, so I may just walk tonight. LOL. Hope you are all haveing a great day. --Julie

Julie-that is awesome! Doesn't it feel so good when you are done though? My girlfriend got breast cancer this year so we all did the Susan Komen race for the cure in May. I never jogged at all before that. I practiced a little bit here and there before the race. There were 65,000 people there running! It was so neat. But I enjoyed it so much that I started looking for 3 mile races. I just did my third one last night. I jog, walk jog walk. I always come in practically last but thats okay. Maybe you could find some in your area for you and your husband.

Great job! That's a wonderful accomplishment! I tried jogging a little during my walk Tuesday, but didn't make it very far. Still too much weight slamming down on the pavement I think! :) I'll keep trying, though.

Thank you for the great comments. I would love to try a 3 mile race, but don't think I am ready. It has taken me a year to get to this point. But I'm not stopping or looking back. Thanks again. --Julie
