I have been looking at Activity & Exercise on F.S.for a person my weight (78Kgs) and found in the list, walking(slow)3Kph to be 164 cal/hour,and watching TV/computer to be 164 cal/hour. this I feel is not right. I have check this on other websites and for watching TV most give 78 to 80 cals/hour,so now I am entering half the time I actually spend watching tv into my exercise diary, which makes it about right. I quite like the F.S website and the people on here, so I am here to stay regardless of this little error.

I don’t think anything is 78 calories per hour for a bloke. You use 125 per hour just being alive and either sleeping or sitting on your bum. It takes an awful lot of exercise to start raising those numbers.

I only use the exercise diary as a general guide as to how active I've been. I don't think it can be accurate on an individual basis as there as so many variables that effect a persons metabolism.

Thank you all for your feed back on my last journal entry, and I agree with your comments. I was just trying to pointing out that walking slowly will use more calories than sitting watching TV. I use the exercise diary as a rough guide as to know if I have burnt off more calories that I eat. Walk 25089 steps yesterday with the dog, off for another walk now. thanks again Pet
