I usually eat enough to not feel hungry, counting carbs the whole time. Eating meals is no longer fun and things seem not to be tasteful here lately. I'm not a cook, so I try to make healthy choices from restaurants, usually carry outs. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm considering "freshly.com."

looks good and if you're keeping an accurate measure of your caloric intake and the types of carbs you're ingesting, you're fine. Carbs from peas and rice won't send your body into the glycemic tailspin like cake and cookies will.

I make a somewhat similar dish, in a big skillet, 1 lb ground beef, brown the beef, add a package dry of Lipton beefy onion soup mix, about 2 cups water, 1 cup Minute Rice. veggies as desired, (I like frozen peas) put the lid on the skillet. Bring it back up to heat and then time for 5 minutes (until rice is cooked.) It's a bit high in sodium, if that's a problem, brown 1 small onion cut up first, before browning meet and don't use the onion soup mix.

CebuCowboy, there are many different WOE on this site, and not all of them are low-carb. I've been successfully losing weight for almost a year now and I eat lots of carbs. Each of us finds a WOE that works for us, and none are wrong, they are just different. Good luck on your journey.

For sure, Shirfleur 1. I'm using FatSecret as a wonderful tool in my ongoing effort to both regain a healthier weight and better control of a host of autoimmune disorders. FS is the first thing that has been a workable way for me to do what I need to: track all nutrition and activity in relation to my blood glucose. It's such a help to see in black and white what is doing what to me!

And oh yeah; I discovered that one food in particular has to be eliminated for a long time...last night at 9 p.m., I ate a 1-serving bowl of frosted mini-wheat cereal (Millville, from Aldi). Yesterday my FBS was 136--still high, but I do have that weird 'morning phenomena.' This morning after my snack two hours before bedtime, FBS jumped to 210. The fast and easy tracking method using FS is going to be key apparently for me reaching my goals.

@shirfleur1 I as well eat a good many carbs too, I track calories (literally the only diet / WOE that I have been able to stick to). I don't function well on the LC plans. Thank You for your support!!!
