Starting a 3 month challenge today. I couldn't have joined on during a worse time. The Tour de France is my busiest time of the entire year for my work and it often requires 12 hour work days. Additionally, the Vuelta starts in September, which is my 2nd busiest time of the year. This 3 month challenge comes at me with a bang.

But, if I can accomplish my goals during this time, it will be easier during the quieter times. And I simply can't wait any more. I've become so large that it's starting to affect how I live my life, sleep, move, do my job. It has become a continuous point of contention with me and my husband. I'm starting to feel bad physically. It finally is time and if that coincides with my "crazy" time, then that's the way the universe planned it to be.

I am starting at an embarrassing 198 pounds. I have done nothing to prepare for this and I'm starting off going blindly. It seems as though I set myself up for failure, but really I didn't. My life is an ever-changing circus of chaos. My job and my family's lifestyles require that I fly by the seat of my pants most days. I never know what I'll be doing or when I'll be doing it, so planning things is really not a possibility for me. I have to live my life an hour at a time. I have to make this work for me instead of against me. I have to adapt to my situation and surroundings and realize that part of the challenge is making fitness part of my life instead of just another thing that I have to do before I hit the pillow at night.

My resolve for today is to make a plan, write it down, and start working on it. And to make a real effort to slow down the amount of food I'm cramming in my mouth while running around.
