Do you all use the suggested calories this app gives you? This app tells me 1600 for no active lifestyle since I’ve been working from home.
I do walk the treadmill 3-4 days per week though.

I try to go 100 or 200 calories under what any ap tells me. All I seem to do is maintain if I stay with what it says. Don't go too low though. that can work against you as well.

Going by standard RDI categories, that should be light activity, I think?

Mine told me something like 1800 was my RDI and doing that I lost nothing. I was walking and working ( not a lot granted) but I’ve dropped it to 1200-1300 and watch my sodium and carbs ( but not obsessed about it) and I’ve been walking 2-4 miles a day on the not too cold days! And finally it’s dropping again! I have to be careful what I do as far as working out because I just had surgery but slowly I will add more. I suggest you just drop you calories to about 1300-1500 and you will see something happen good luck!

I started with what the app told me (1500), but after I lost 10 lbs, I went even lower to (1200) cause I started staying the same. You want to lose 1-3lbs a week.

I agree with what Lisa said regarding the RDI. I didn't pay much attention to what it recommended and went for 1200 - 1500 and cut the sodium. I read an interesting article recently that said, if someone weighing 300lbs jogged for 30 minutes the would burn twice as much calories as someone weighing 200lbs, and three times the amount if you weigh 150lbs. It said the more your weight reduces the harder it is to use up the excess calories you have built up over time. I started jogging when I joined FS at the end of August, and I have found as my weight has reduced I need to jog for longer to maintain the weight loss. I also found that lifting weights for 15 minutes four days a week also had an impact. I have never lifted weights or jogged in my life, but that along with watching the calories seemed to work for me. Hope some of this helps, best wishes.

Tam to, of course that is correct. It’s much harder to carry a 50 lb bag of sand than a 25 lb bag of sand.

just my experience as every body reacts differently. the recommended intake is a valuable starting point. I also have a fitbit that estimates how much I burn. but I'm often gaining with a 100-200 deficit. so I question the accuracy of my fitbit and recommendations. just my experience.
