I weigh most days not sure if it helps but think it's a habit now. I know few that do. you will see lots of fluctuations though so can get you down I can be so good but gain a few lbs in a night n take a day or so to come off x

I recommend it in the sense that the most accurate way to measure your weight is to weigh in every day at the same time (I do it every morning after going to the bathroom) and then once a week you calculate an average with the 7 figures you collected. Weight fluctuates a lot week by week and the average is a much better indicator of your trajectory. Although I understand that some people find it damaging psychologically, so see how you feel!

I weigh every day and it’s not to track daily weight as if that matters, in fact quite the opposite: by seeing the fluctuations it just helps see the trends. It started because I really hate weighing myself and if I just do it as habit then it’s not a big deal.

Thanks everyone that's really interesting. Taking a 7 day average is a great idea as well..Im starting a meal plan on Monday, just trying out different things, maybe I will try the averaging alongside it

Try measuring yourself too. Sometimes that is a better indication of how you are doing. So many different things can affect your daily weight. Try weighing yourself every couple of hours during a day and you will see what I mean! Good luck x

Daily weighing is my preference but you must be able to take knocks to your confidence otherwise keep to a week

I weigh every daybut log just saturday. It is very interesting to see the ups and downs over the week. You just have to not take each days weight as gospel. I was DESPERATE to log a low midweek weight but just keep to saturday saturday saturday

Best of luck! For context, the day I do the average I also take full body measurements (which I only do once a week). When I calculate how much weight I’ve lost for the week, I deduct the current average from the previous one. But really the weekly body measurements are more accurate than any maths I’m doing. If daily weighing becomes a burden, just keep a measurements diary with weekly entries and you can’t go wrong!

tends to keep me focussed!

I never really thought about doing an average. My weight can fluctuate up to a kilo overnight. I tend to do once a week. But the scales at the gym are out of bounds just now so I can't get a routine at the moment.
