blackfaery's Journal, 27 Dec 20

I am so fed up and its my own doing. I am the same weight I was last Christmas.
I need to keep myself on a plan and stick to it come hell or high water.
I am going to give IF another go as I don't have breakfast most days anyway. plus I have developed acid reflux so having a time to finishing eating in the evening will help with keeping it under control.
does anyone who does IF use an app or just stick to times on a clock, what do you find is best?

Thank you Kalisy, I will probably make my window either 11-7pm or 12-8pm. During the week, I usually get home just before 6pm and dinner is normally waiting for me, so I could even make no eating after 7.30pm 😄

I’ve done IF in the past (though I had to stop because it increase the migraines I was having) however I used an app to track my timings because once you are in a routine of 16/8 you tend to extend it some days without even thinking about it. I was doing a couple of 24 hr fasts at one point because I was keeping busy and not thinking about food, the time just kinda slipped away. Great for getting your body into the Ketosis stage. There are a few fasting apps that are free and each one has its positives/negatives so I guess it depends on what you want from the app itself. I’m actually going to start doing 5:2 fasting now as I think my migraines won’t play up as badly with that... just remember with fasting you need to stay hydrated and start off slowly and build yourself up. If you are on Facebook there are plenty of useful pages for fasting 🌷

Looks like IF is not working for you. Why don't you try something different this year?

looking at your journal you seem to be struggling consistently, especially with a flow of snacks. which to me sounds like you get hungry a lot or have a problem with hunger. therefore I would advise NOT to IF. because you'll just be torturing yourself. I'd advise to meal plan, get the house rid of temptation. fill at meal times with veggie heavy based meals included. snack healthily or not at all. and keep up to date counting calories

Yes, I have decided to go with more veg at meal times and if I need to snack, have fruit or veg. Trying to keep extra sugar intake down as much as possible
