Wow. Never again. Syl90 and I had quinoa last night, and felt relatively okay last night, but today we're both like NOOOOOOOOOOO. My stomach felt so bad that I had to leave work because I was so nauseous. I went home, and ate saltines, drank a little ginger ale, and had a bunch of orange juice, and I'm feeling better now that it's going through my system. But never again. That sucked. We're going to do one workout today instead of doubles since we're both feeling like crap, and do the other one tomorrow. I hope you're having a great day!

No way, quinoa is on my grocery list. I'm staying in a small town so I had to call around to the different grocery stores to see which one sold it.I've never tried it before and now I am a little nervous. I will try this during the weekend just to be safe. Feel better!

Quinoa is a wonderful grain and source of protein - wow, sorry you felt ill. Perhaps you did not cook it long enough...

Try Bob's Red Mill Flaxseed Meal, I purchased at Clarks Health Food. I asked the girl for Chia seed supposed to swell up in your tummy making you less hungry, SHE TOLD ME SHE HAD RECENTLY LOST 85 LBS using the Flaxseed Meal. I purchased a bag to try and Waaaa Laaa it really will curb your appitite. Sprinkle on salads, in smoothies etc. This meal has a nutty flavor being very good. Excellent source of fiber and keeps you regular. Drink an 8 ounce glass of water with the Flaxseed Meal.

I would have to agree with HCB. I would be willing to bet that it wasn't the Quinoa that made you sick. I is definately not as mild as rice but it is a super food and should not have caused you any illness. The saltines however made of white flour now those are poison... ; )

Thanks for all of the comments, and I will consider flaxseed meal, though I have had problems with flaxseed in the past. I've done my research, and sometimes people just can't handle quinoa, but it is really important that it is cooked properly. We followed all instructions and even cooked it twice because we were supposed to use already cooked quinoa in our recipe. I do have a very sensitive stomach though, and this isn't the first time I haven't been able to digest something. It really is a shame though, because I really like the taste of quinoa, and it's great for you. But I felt absolutely awful after eating it. I'm just glad I realized I'm intolerant before it got to the point where I would throw up upon eating it. Thank you for the advice everyone though! And I really appreciate the support!
