Not everyone gets the asparagus/urine side effect. It is a genetic issue, just like the dislike of cilantro is genetic. There are those who have no side effects from the asparagus, there are those whose body chemistries produce the odor and those who may or may not be able to smell the odor. With cilantro some people think it has a metallic taste and others taste soap. All genetic. When you have your DNA sequenced those are 2 of the fun things they can tell you.
