I am looking at getting some vegan protein powder. Would it do the same as regular protein? I don't think there is a difference but I don't know much on protein powders.

I think the biggest thing is digestion. Some people can’t digest the whey as easily (me). It’s ultimately personal preference though!

I've used whey and vegan. don't notice a difference. for a really cost effective option look into the now foods pea protein. walmart website carries it for around $20 for 2 pounds. I've also used the better body vegan protein. both are different in flavor being unflavored and made with quinoa or peas. I use them in oatmeal or make pancakes out of it. not bad with syrup or something sweet. haven't mixed with water though so can't comment on how they mix.

You have to read the ingredient list and see where the protein is coming from. I know you have a wonderful goal of getting more heavily into fitness. Are you taking any classes or studying on your own to increase your knowledge base in these areas?

I don't use powdered protein because I find protein shakes more convenient. I tried a vegan protein drink at Costco. Hated it, I didn't like the taste. I also drink a whey product. It's called Premier Protein. Lucky for me, I don't have any problems digesting milk products...

Whey protein tastes better as long as you are not lactose intolerant. I like Isopure low carb - check it out on Amazon
