This is very irritating I am eating around 1300 to 1600 calories a day walk every day and have hit a wall. My last meal is at night while I am watching the square box on the wall between 9:00 & 10:00.

Thank you for your insight I have come to the same conclusion.

Are you sure your calories are counted right? I have to weigh high calorie ingredients like cheeses, peanut butter and sauces. You'd be surprised how small an ounce of cheese is. Also avoid liquid calories and salty foods will make you retain water.

I do one meal a day for decades and it is after the gym work out and just before i go to bed. A light breakfast long before the sun rises and a light snack just before the gym late afternoon. I am sure that it is the daily caloric balance that matters not the time that i eat.

theres no way you'll lose weight eating after 8pm

I would have to agree with Romenson. I go to bed at 7pm (Yes, I don't watch basketball - Jazz fan here), to avoid eating too much.

I've lost 15 lbs in a month+ and I eat after 8. I'm not saying that's a good thing--and certainly not to brag--, just pointing out that it is actually possible to have a snack after 8 and lose weight. My total caloric intake is higher than yours, too (1600-1750). What works for one person clearly won't work for all. I wonder about sodium intake, where calories are coming from, and level of exercise. An expert might be able to tease this further apart with you. Wishing you good luck!

When you say "around" those calories, do you mean you weigh/measure everything or are you more of a eyeball it person? I HAVE to weigh everything (that I can) instead of measuring. I always use peanut butter as an example...I used to measure it out in a spoon and turned out I was eating almost double the amount I thought I was after actually weighing it.

Logging the exact calories you are eating is essential to really know . IF you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight. Simple. Count and log on this site, it will tell you what you are doing. also find a way to measure calories burned - a fitness watch can measure your walking for you.

You might consider doing some reading regarding the body’s digestive process. Normally our bodies are prepared to shut down the process of digestion at night to begin its body repair process. It can’t do both at the same time. Very interesting subject. Do a GOOGLE and read a bit about it.

Maybe you're having breakfast too early?! Although males burn calories while sleeping, I wouldn't eat so late unless I was waking up around 10-11 am. THat way/this way, I won't be eating too early if I wake up around 6-8 am. Back to back meals, after sleeping, should be at least 12-14 hours apart. This is the only way I ever fast, anymore....while I sleep....at night. I get to be sometimes around 2 am, but I make sure I get my 8 hours of sleep every night. I then begin my morning w/ a cup of light/mild/bold cup of coffee depending on the agenda and/or mood of the day. Cheers!!! It's all good. Just keep counting your calories and making handsome choices. I try to keep it @1200 calories per day, drink 12 8-oz cups of h2o daily, try to get some cardio/walking in 4-5x's per week. Have fun, stay positive, and continue to be blessed everyone always...Amen

I hit a plateau as a late nite eater as well. I switched it up, started eating before 7, and hitting the gym for an hour ( after I digested... like an hour after dinner), and I am starting to see real changes now

What you can do is take a look at WHAT kind of calories you're eating as well. A lot of processed foods like peanut butter can contain a lot of oils and sugars that can act like a real boat anchor to weight loss and basically do more to screw you over if you eat it with a lot of frequency.
