so on top of me stopping to eat so much carbs and sugar. now, on top of this, my doctor has been trying to get my cholesterol down. ideal level, is she says, 2.
I am down to 2.5. she has increased my medication for statins to get it where it should be.
we talked about how much eggs i should be eating. btw, i love eggs.she has limited my eggs to one egg every other day. my daughter and i decided to change recipes for my salad and to make a balsamic vinegar salad dressing with grapeseed oil and dijon mustard. so delicious. i really overdo amount of mayo or salad dressing so this recipe is better. so no pizza, fries, bacon, sausages, chips, sugar, foods with high carbs, etc. 2nd day of weening myself away from mayo(put the jar in garbage)and salad dressing. oh, bought rice crisps at dollar store. now, finished that...and about a snack....huh, yogourt every once in awhile...hopefully my blood test in 3 months will have my cholesterol where dr. wants it to be...not happy! but will NOT give up....YET!

You will find a way to do this! I also fight with cholesterol and it is a struggle, especially when trying to get protein levels up. Sometimes it really feels like a juggling act. Remember, though, every step forward made, even if not perfect, is towards a healthier you than before you made it! All the best!

guacamole makes a healthy substitute for mayo when using as a spread. my other fav is to use plain low fat yogurt instead of mayo in tuna salad or other salads. I switched to egg whites instead of whole egg and you can buy egg beaters if you want the yolk taste. exercise does the best job of reducing cholesterol quickly especially if you make diet changes.
