It is common, that and eating out of boredom. That was my thing, and grazing between meals. I found this helped me realize what my eating patterns use to be like.

I hear this, so much! I’ve eaten for so many reasons other than hunger. At times I can feel how numbed from painful emotions I can be after a binge. Like 49 says, it’s common.

I instantly run to the fridge with any poor emotion. It’s a hard habit to break

I eat when I'm bored, Covid has not been helpful. I also eat when I'm happy, it's my go-to celebration activity and when that happens I have zero impulse control. Learning new coping methods is important, I support you 100% and hope you find the one that works for you. I still have no consistently suitable alternatives for my eating choices during celebration, though intermittent fasting has pretty much solved the bored eating.

You're not alone, I eat when I'm sad, mad, happy, oh and when I'm hungry.
