Throw the scale away... it's probably OFF! Go by how you feel until the scale "cooperates" with how you feel! :) Keep with it Notjune!

The scale is not the most reliable gauge esp if you've been sick! Agree with MillerM, toss it until you get your bearings back this week and are eating + exercising normally. Hard to toss it, but try...

Did you eat a lot of processed foods? That happens to me if they are loaded with sodium. Drink water. Hope you are feeling better.

What they said - and your body will retain fluid to protect it... give it a couple of days.

I did eat a little fried chicken. mashed potatoes. one biscuit. pizza. 2 donuts. But I still didnt eat 10,000+ calories more than I am used to eating for sure! I couldnt eat a whole lot of anything!!!!!!! Even with the junk food, I still ate under what I should've for that 5 day period.
It better be the salt!

Some of the most illogical gains I've had have been when I've been really sick. Even when I didn't over-do on sodium OR calories, I've had gains of up to 6 lbs in a VERY short period of time. The body seems to have a mind of it's own when you're sick! I know it can be incredibly frustrating - feels like adding insult to injury. You've spent a week being sick as a dog, you'd think the Universe would at least grace you with a moderate loss. HAH. Hang in there and get back to what has been working for you and I know that 3 will be gone in no time. Glad to hear it sounds like you're past the awful part of the flu.

Hang in there it could be water. Your body might be just holding on to it just in case and to help you get better. Feel well soon!

I feel like throwing a tantrum and screaming "Its not FAIR!!!!!!!!!" but I doubt seriously it would do any good lol.
And yea, i assumed I would lose, not gain weight, as it was a full service flu with TMI, ALOT of diarrhea. I felt like I had lost 3lbs not gained it when it was all done!

I totally get it. You just wanna yell TAKE IT BACK! I DON'T DESERVE THIS!! I know with that kind of flu that even when you do eat a few things that are off plan, things move thru your system so quickly you don't feel like they're going to stick around long enough to do much damage. Being sick is never fun, but being sick while trying to lose weight is a real pip ;-(

Doesn't drive you crazy? Maybe there was a lot of salt in the 'crap' you ate, and its just water weight. At least your clothes are loose. I'm one of those that can eat through any illness, I'm doomed.

Don't let that number on the scale mess up all your work. Just keep moving and things will be fine. Have a great day :)

I get your pain! I was almost perfect the past 5 weeks and ate about 23,000 calories less than I expended which should have meant about a 6-7 pound weight loss (and watched everyone else eat all sort of good stuff and I did NOT) and in 5 weeks I lost NOTHING, so I am ready to throw a fit too!!!
