Ok, wow, I almost don't know where to begin. First off I guess let me say that I am so glad that I had already started to make positive lifestyle changes. I got my blood work back today and it's not good. It's not devastating but could be without the lifestyle changes that I have already began. I found out today that I m showing signs of insulin resistance. In other words I am borderline diabetic. I have to go next week for a 2 hour glucose tolerance test to determine how close I am to that border if i haven't already went over it. I will also be starting Glucophage to manage this. One good thing is that with continued weight loss my doctors feels that it can be reversed at this point and I might be able to come off the medication. Along with that I am on a event heart monitor for 30 days. I had a scarey situation to happen while on the treadmill the other day. While doing part of the routine I have established my heart began to race and then while trying to slow down it skipped a few times. I hope I never have to feel that again. If all of that was not enough I now have to have my hip and knee x-rayed because back in October I hit my hip on the corner of my dresser and I'm still having issues with it. The doctor seems to think that I might have cracked my hip bone. That he says, is causing me to over compensate for the hip with my knee which along with my hip has become very painful. I can still walk my 3 miles on the treadmill but I am now no longer able to run. I am feeling vey overwhelmed right now. I feel like my body is just falling apart. I hope that the people who read this that have just started trying to lose weight read this. I do not wish the issues that I am having on no one. Use this as a wake up call as it is for me, and if you think these issues might not affect you because of age well.... I'm only 34.
