Comfort eating will only give you a short term "lift" and you know it. You want to change. You want to lose weight. You can kick depression's ar$e. You can do it.

Do you do anything creative? Crochet, knitting, drawing, painting? This kind of thing helps me to focus on something else rather than my weight. God bless ya x

Try to get outdoors every day. A quick walk and look at the trees and birds. Make charts, make lists of what you want to do, make whole week food plans, try and cook your own food. Put make up on. Tidy your kitchen cupboards. Try moving your furniture around. Something will spark up some interest and you’ll be back on it soon! And look at what you’ve done so far - so well done. And keep looking at this app!!! Other people’s journeys are so inspiring!!

Try getting up at the same time every day. And make your bed straight away. Get washed and dressed. Then sit quietly and have some time to yourself if you can and plan your day. You will feel much more able to face the world once you have done these basics. Tackle the hardest tasks first thing. Keep eating as healthily as possible. Try and get some exercise. Feel better soon!

it was a photograph of myself that finally made me want to start changing my life. I suffer with depression and anxiety and found food to be the best comfort for me. it made me feel like I was doing something and not just laying in bed. you can do this. put you photo on the fridge or your mirror in your room so you can face yourself every day because the mirror is a liar and you only see what you want yo see

Emma Jones, I refuse to have mirrors in the main rooms so there is a small one in the bathroom and my girls have their own in bedrooms, I hate to look at myself maybe what u said about mirrors are true I never thought of it like that thank u

depression is a wicked beast, but the fact you have asked for help shows you have the strength to beat it. I couldn't cope with daily living, let alone dieting, until the weight of depression had eased. If you haven't already, have a chat with your GP, I found serotonin boosters helped to regain the will to battle on. The biggest help was having someone who would listen, without judgement, so keep checking in with the wonderful folks here and take heed of their wise and caring words, (I have lurked here for a couple of months and they always inspire me) you are not alone. Accept depression is there, but choose to control it not let it control you. You will win ❤

I find it depressing sometimes reading all of these comments from the fit, happy bunnies shoving it in your face how many calories they've lost and how muscled up they are! Use the calorie counter and try and stick to a number. If you fancy a Mars bar have it then realise that you have less on your calorie counter to eat, You'll soon get the hang of it!

Hayley listen to the good advice ignore the bad

Gilly b all the happy bunnies on here work hard for where they are, and I'm pretty sure they are just letting people no how the hard works paying off, I have no will power or self discipline so I do crap my choice, let people have their say u have urs

Hi Hayley, nice to see you back. Lots of advice on here and lots of support lovely. Weight loss is always hard without the addition of depression and anxiety. Forgive yourself- none of this is your fault. If you haven't seen your gp, I suggest you do that first. Once you're mentally in a healthier place the rest will follow. Also, somedays, getting out of bed, getting showered and dressed is enough. That's plenty for those really dark days. Big hugs xx
