I think I screwed up my first week. I was only able to get barely 300 cals a day and not the full 500 cals. Due to schedule conflicts I had to skip either my lunch or dinner all last week except for Friday I did eat lunch & dinner and the scale went up .6lbs. I can do only 300 cals a day for the rest of my round but I'm concerned that my protein intake won't be enough. We will see suppose.

If you are eating that little, you def need the protein. Much of what you lose will be muscle. You don't want to lose the muscle because the more muscle you have the more calories you burn at rest and the more you will be able to eat and when you maintain.
