LinaBeena's Journal, 20 Mar 07

Changed from Shangri-La to my own diet and haven't journaled for awhile. One thing that makes a HUGE difference for me: When I am diligent about entering every single thing I eat into my online food/calorie counter, I am much more likely to eat really well and stay within 1250 calories. When I goof off and think "oh, I'll write it in tomorrow", I inevitably forget to jot some things down, then let it slide another day, and voila', I'm suddenly not eating as well, making excuses about what I'm eating, etc. Logging my food is a big help for me. I was using Fitday.com, which I still love, but I finally signed up with one I have to pay for (Myfooddiary.com) because it gives me better reports and views, and has a SUPER cool feature which tells you, based on what you've eaten that day, how close you are to getting to your goal weight. Here is a sample of what mine looked like on one particular day (a day I should replicate over and over!):

If every day were like today ...
You would lose 1.7 lbs per week.
You would meet your goal weight of 122 lbs on 7/16/2007.
In one month, you would weigh 144.7 lbs.
In three months, you would weigh 130.1 lbs.
(That bold font is for me to boost me/remind me!)

Another thing I have to remember, is that at Christmas time, I weighed around 158. Though I just started recounting my weight loss (from 154), in reality, I've lost 7 lbs since December. I don't feel like I have really, because I have such a long way to go until I will feel comfortable with my body. Note to self: follow your successful day of dieting each and every day and you'll lose weight in no time!
