Evie1010's Journal, 21 May 11

We had an awesome time on vacation in Colonial Williamsburg! The resort we stayed at was fantastic and two couples - some very dear friends - joined us for a few days. We enjoyed lots of laughs and made some great memories. Jim and I trapsed around the historic colonial town and saw lots of interesting sites. We put in a good number of miles walking each day. Although I did not enter my food on FS while I was away, I did make it a point to eat on-plan the whole time. I brought a good bit of food from home and we cooked a lot while on vacation, eating out only once each day. It is possible that there were some hidden carbs in what I ate when we went out - and I did not drink the 100 oz of water that I typically drink in a day -- so there could be a few factors; but I did put on a few pounds when I weighed-in upon returning home. :(

Anyhoo, I am focused on getting back to where I was before vacation. Happy to be back with my FS buddies and to enjoy the accountability and support and to share that with others, too. I've been missing ya'll! Hope everyone is well!!

Hey Evie - Welcome Back! Always so nice to get away w/ the man you love! Sounds like it was a lot of fun! Great job on adapting your way of eating to whatever you were doing in life! It's a great indicator this change is permanent! Which means in the long run, YOU'LL get where you are going...and this will be a lifestyle change for you. It already is!!! :) Much Love.

I'm so glad you had a great time, and do not fret, those few little pounds will come off very quickly! I thought of you a lot last week as we drove by Wmsburg on our way to the beach. Colonial Wmsburg is one of my most favorite places to visit, but it has been several years since we've been there. Could you feel me waving at you from I-64?

HAPPY FRIDAY EVIE, nice to see you - hope you are doing well and how is Jim's knee and silly Daisy?
27 May 11 by member: sarahsmum
Hi Is!! Thanks for the happy Friday greeting! Jim is still on the mend - thanks for asking. He has gone to the doc yet again. Wasn't able to bend the knee at an acute angle (such as going down the stairs "regularly). He is doing intense exercises to work thru the scar tissue which is limiting his range of motion. Keep him in your prayers. He's always been very very active -- and he feels pretty down that his knee may never be 100% again. Miss Daisy is good - no more crazy antics. She has been a well-mannered little girl. She had a playful romp in the river Wednesday and a nice bath, following...so she's feeling pretty and perky to say the least. I hope all is well for you, friend -- and that you are fighting off the sugar demons with gusto. Much love.... = )

So glad you had a good time on vacation! Like the others I know those few lbs will be history in no time! I knew Jim had not been feeling well, but I some how missed he was having knee problems. I wish him well as I fully know the hard work knees can require. One thing that helped my knee with range of motion was biking (on a stationary bike), to peddle backwards at first until I had enough range of motion to go forwards, I think we even did partial arcs in the beginning. Wishing him the best in his struggle!

Evie, we have nothing exciting, just the usual, and now that the weather has warmed and dried out, lots more yard work. Still trying to get the pool cleared out. We had a lovely, relaxing Sunday! Just sat outside, listened to the ball game, and chillaxed. Then we bbq'd some pork steak, brats, and hamburgers, so plenty of leftovers for the next few days. Hope your weekend is blessed!
