Socolova's Journal, 29 Jun 15

Our race went pretty well, I walked quite a bit in the middle. They didn't really have the obstacles spread out, lots in the beginning and they tired me out in a hurry. Didn't get much sleep the night before either since all the men of the group came home drunk as skunks at 1am. But it was fun regardless! Finished in less than 45 minutes, not too shabby for a 5k obstacle course! Ankles and calves are pretty sore but all in all I feel pretty good! One girl in our group had some kind of allergic reaction to something and ended up at the ER with really bad hives, so that part stunk but otherwise it was good! Had a few drinks the night before and one beer post-race but can proudly say nothing else. Didn't eat too shabby either, just kinda picked through everything! Only gained 1 lb and that will probably disappear after some extra water today, woohoo! Go me! I will post before and after pics once my friends gets them to me :)

Good job on your race. So the guys all got drunk the night BEFORE racing? Wow...I can't imagine doing a run with a hangover! Well can imagine actually and it's not a pretty picture.

Sounds like you did a great job on the race. What kind of obstacles did you have to contend with?

@Jim, haha they didn't have to run, it's a girls only mud run, we were home by 11 :) @Izzy, so much fun! mud pits, fireman poles, blow-up slides, climb-over walls, climbing nets, swinging balls (literally big pink swinging balls)...good times!
