Just want to tell you my experience with using to many whey products. I never had any problems with dairy etc until I started drinking protein shakes and eating protein bars daily to up my daily protein. After a couple of months I started getting really bad stomach issues. Bad enough to get me to Dr. He said I basically consumed so much whey that it caused me to be lactose intolerant. He took me off all dairy and whey for 6 weeks. Then I slowly introduced dairy to see if I could tolerate it. Cannot. No milk or milk products, and only cheese I can eat are feta and Parm. I can tolerate liquid premade protein drinks like premier protein a few xs a week and whey protein about 1-2 xs a week. No ice cream or frozen yogurt either. So be careful...

Mmmmm.... more encouragement to avoid whey protein. I already am lactose intolerant, so I eat only hard cheeses for dairy. I use non-dairy substitutes for everything else. I would choose rice or pea protein or a combination. Probably pea protein because I am iron deficient and anemic right now.

I am drinking the Dymatize Fruity Pebbles one. Wow. Tastes just like it. It was a hard choice between that and the Dunkin Donuts flavor. How do you like the Dunkin? I plan to try that next!

My husband has to eat that much protein too and he eats a lot of chicken, cottage cheese and liquid egg. Also adds turkey pepperoni to his liquid eggs. He will drink one premier protein drink a day at 30 grams of protein.

Dunking flavor is the best. For me, it is breakfast and coffee in one shake. But we changed it for Optimum Nutrition brand. They have hydro-isolate protein powder. It is supposed to have higher biovialability .

Fairlife Nutrition plan chocolate drink - 11.5oz, 150 cal., whopping 30g of protein, 2g fat, 4g carbs, 2g sugar, only 150 cal. The chocolate is freaking delicious. I get 18 pk. at Costco for $29. That is only $1.61 per serving or so. :) I love them.

Sometimes after lifting I mix the Dymatize ISO into the 11.5oz Nutrition plan chocolate drink in a shaker cup. Gets 55g protein, only 270 cal., very low carb and fat. Tastes good.

I had tried to get more protein in my diet without using protein supliments. Beef, chicken, nut and cheese proteins drive my fat intake up. Fish is good, but I can't eat it every day, I don't like it that much. You have to eat too much plant protein to make a difference, and I haven't found any plant protein that I want to eat that much of (yuck). So, I'm slowly adding in Whey protein. I wasn't aware of peanut protein. I'll have to consider adding that to my chocolate flavored whey... healthy reeses.

You have me thinking now @Diana 1234 because I use plant-based protein,Vega and Orgain for about 4years now. I have developed stomach uses with dairy , I never really liked milk, I use almond milk but I can't eat ice cream anymore 🤢or certain cheeses too. Is this because I use too much protein powder?

CMJ - maybe you were lactose intolerant all along, but your body tolerated it. First indicator might have been not liking milk. Now that your body has been conditioned to not having it, the protest is much louder.

I don’t know how you feel about shrimp, but a serving of Kirklands raw shrimp is 22g protein with 0 fat. Bare in mind a serving is about 8 shrimp. Admittedly, I eat about 2 servings a day (44g of protein) Sauté in light oil, makes a nice post run snack or salad topper instead of bacon.

Just found a protein powder at Aldi, we just got on. Macros are good when compared to the normal finds. 30g of protein for 180 calories. There’s not all sorts of crap in it and it doesn’t taste like a chemical dipped shake. I believe it’s because it was created for the European market.
