The leaner the foods the easier to get the protein in I can get 180 to 200 grams of protein with just 1300 calories but that is lean meats. I do this for a cutting phase Diana then pump it up more when I hit my level of body fat that I want to hit I have been if you can believe it 6 percent with a 7 fold skin caliper test

Of course Diana 6 percent is not sustainable but 10 is for a guy and it’s very healthy in my opinion

New Wayne-what are the foods your are eating exactly to get all that protein for 1300 calories? I struggle to get to 120 and have been upping my calories to over 1500 which i know is causing me to gain weight (also im currently sedentary due to recovery). All tips are so welcome. However, i dont eat 4-legged animals so that may be a large part of your diet?

Hi YearofHealth not a lot of 4 footed animals but lots of two legged that fly.
Egg whites and lean chicken without the skin are my staples and it’s very easy that way I can hit 200 grams of protein for exam 700 grams of chicken breast is 1300 calories and 205 grams of protein or egg whites 50 egg whites are 858 calories and 180 grams of protein
From a vegetarian side I think that would be hard YearofHealth you would need to incorporate a vegetarian protein and potentially a baca supplement

Should be a bcaa supplement

YOH, Just a thought on getting more protein and helping with healing your skin. Of course ask Dr first but I take collagen powder in my coffee every morning. I have so many issues with my hair and skin from my Hashimotos disease. It really does help! My skin is very clear. And bonus, it adds protein! I just started using a new one called Purely Inspired Collagen Peptides and it has 70 grams of protein. So far I like it.

@Diana 1234 - I don't think Collagen protein would work for YearofHealth2023 as it sounds like she is either vegetarian or vegan, is that correct YearofHealth2023. Maybe you can look for a Pea Protein Isolate, as well as a BCAA supplement(one that comes from fruit, i believe there are, rare but they are). Taking a BCAA supplement can help you seriously get the benefits of higher protein with less calories. Let me know if you need any more help.
I also trust YOH that your recovery will get quicker I feel your pain, but once you are healed I am sure it would have been all worth it. Strength to you.

New Wayne im quasi vegetarian. I will eat chicken, limited turkey (harder on my head), fish, eggs, cheese, yogurt. Drink a lot of protein shakes (1-2 a day) i guess thats not a lot. Diana, i actually haven’t done any research on collagen powder but assuming comes from bones like bone broth? I did force myself to drink bone broth last summer when trying to get the bulk of my weight off but i had to hold my nose and the mental distress was icky. I will look up bcaa supplement new Wayne. I dont know what that is. Thank you so much for responding guys

chicken breasts YOH.
Smoked Salmon
BCAA Powder - are branch chain amino acids they are the three required amino acidds needed for protein metabolism, they are leucine isoleucine and valine. leucin activates mtor.
You are welcome.
