Ok, so I went to the grocery store and stocked up on all things green...everything that I've been avoiding for the past year. So I've got pre-made salads in my fridge so that I can just grab them and go to class in the mornings. However, I am looking at my food diary and finding that the veggies that I've chosen are apparently FULL of CARBS!!! UGH!! You know...if there is a way to get something wrong, I will find it. Here I was feeling all proud that I was finally getting this induction thing right and I haven't even eaten dinner yet and I'm already 10 pts over my carb limit for the day. I even prepare my breakfast in the morning. I have never done that before class. But I get up earlier just so I can eat breakfast before my workouts. But I'm going to keep trying. I'm going to get a "clean induction" yet!

looks to me like you are doing great!.you should be very proud of yourself!if they are veggies they are already better than the processed food you can buy, & the vegies really are the only place u should be getting your carbs from! if they are green and leafy yellow or orange vegies u can have as many as u like. if you can, replace the atkins products( the bars ect) for something u make urself, cos they take up too many of ur net carbs.also if u r doing excercise you can have a little more anyway. under 30 in a day is seen as following the diet. you dont want to go too much under 20 net carbs a day or your body goes into "starvation mode" and u wont loose any, and may even gain. u just want to be around the 20 net amount.

Looks like your net carbs are right on - but your calories are too low. Women should get a minimum of 1500 calories, and on Atkins, you may find that closer to 2000 calories will be more beneficial. You need to eat to lose. Especially your fats and veggies! Dietary fat is your "fuel" and vegetables provide your antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber!
