5th 5K tonight 34:27. Skipped weight training today as it looked like rain and I really wanted to run before I got washed out. Again, was ready to stop before 1 mile, but I kept plodding along and finished the 3.1 miles and even ran 2 minutes more...FOR FUN! Will try to get some upper body in first thing in the morning.

Were you always a runner? I know at least one person who runs daily, just so he can eat junk food. I'm starting to see the attraction, but my doctor(s) say doing anything high-impact like running is something I and the herniated discs would live to regret. Enjoy!

@Sam: Never a runner. Football player in high school where I ran a 6 minute mile, but only as psrt of some summer practice competition. Probably never ran more than 2 miles on any occassion since then. Once I got heavy, any attempts at running were met with significant joint and hip pain. I've had both ACL's worked on and a menisectomy in one knee but, those don't seem to be causing any issues with running now. Early running during rehab was tough because my shoes were $20 "look like running shoes". I went to a specialty running store and got a decent pair ($115 on sale for $65) to match my running form and that feeling of being beat up after a 5 minute run went away!
