Jazzydoodles's Journal, 22 Dec 23

One of the fellow followers asked how I accomplished my goal well here is my day! I stay under 1600 calories and try to stay under 50 “net carbs” try to limit processed food with the exception of deli ham etc. make pretty much all meals from scratch with as much “natural” and organic foods possible. Batch cook a lot of meals and freeze for convenience when I don’t feel like cooking a meal. And a good kitchen weight scale is a must!! Keep track of all meals in “fat secret “ been a life saver for me! Really as I am diabetic and last A1C was 5.6 my highest was 12! Good luck to you all and God bless you on your journey 😀

That is cool. Do you ever wander into more sugar heavy foods?

No but I do keto chocolate bars on hand (Aldi stores) have good ones for an occasional treat sometimes! You just have to have a little sweet treat on occasion to be able to stick to this lifestyle long term. And I must say once you stick with it and train your brain to choose healthy foods it becomes second nature and becomes a lot easier to stick to😊

Do you have to do low carb? is it the crucial factor or is it the calories? I am asking because I am not good at maintaining weight and just thinking about strategy. I always lose my weight on keto

Liv101 I tried keto and it was too restrictive in opinion, I do take a lot of ideas from it but because of being diabetic I try to eat more naturally with some veggies and a small amounts of fruit for an occasional treat. Yes I believe Lo carb is the way to go. Just a side note I am 69 years old and feel so much better than I have in years and a lot of my diabetic neuropathy has been better also. So they say age is an deterrent to weight lose I beg to differ 😵‍💫 good luck on your weight and more important health journey
