GravyBoat's Journal, 22 Sep 11

The last few months have been some of the most difficult in a long, long, time. I can't say they've been the worst. Just difficult.

The one thing that has helped through all of it, is being able to control what I eat, in what amount and when. Recording my intake easily and quickly on this site has made some remarkable changes for me.

Borrowing from another member on this site, I refuse to give excuses for why I am not taking care of myself. By taking care of myself and my health, I can be in a position to take care of the others I love.

So, no excuses. Doesn't matter if life is extraordinarly tough right now, things always get better (and they get worse) but things do change. My weight issues need to be separate from that and they need to be something I control for me. AS it turns out, it's been a pretty easy task. Much easier than I had imagined, because I am looking at the whole process differently than I ever have before. I gained weight slowly over time. It's okay if that's how I lose it... very slowly, over time.

LOVE! Sorry to hear it's been a rough few months. I can confirm that during difficult times when things have happened beyond my control, knowing that I can control how I care for my own health is a consolation. At least by doing that, I know I'm not making things worse & am in fact putting myself in a better position to do what I can to improve the situation. Great to meet you, you've done well so far & I have no doubt this is just the beginning. :D
