Smiley845's Journal, 22 Jan 12

I've generally taken one "free" day per week rather than trying to fit in splurges into my daily allowance. The reason I've done this is for self-discipline on a daily basis, knowing that I have a day set aside for indulgences and not caring about nutrition. I've decided to go ahead and track all of my calories that I eat on "free day" anyway so that I can see if I'm really sabotaging my weight loss intentions.

I didn't lose last week, which is honestly very disappointing. I weigh in on Saturday mornings, before the "free day" free for all begins, so my weigh in was not affected by that.

I've tweaked my calorie daily allowance some. I also know that I don't lose well when I'm not exercising, although I was sick last week and spent a lot of time doing a lot of nothing. I'm sure that affected it some, added to the fact that I had "free day" on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I tracked all of my food intake and exercise via Weight Watchers and wasn't behind at all, so I still expected to see at least a 1 pound loss. But I didn't. And that's okay.

Now, if I don't lose any this week, it won't be okay.

I do struggle with feeling like I shouldn't have to work THIS hard to lose a few pounds. I eat relatively healthfully, not a lot of calories, and am nursing full time my 7-month-old. I feel like if I create a calorie deficit by diet alone, at this weight I should lose relatively easily. I'm not sure why this isn't happening, but I'm going to keep plugging away.

And... maybe I did see a loss...

But it wasn't below the lowest weight I've seen on the scale during this weight loss adventure. Maybe I'll just start weighing in every morning.

Yeah, that's the ticket. :)
