MOMofTeens's Journal, 03 Feb 10

It has been a bad day. I am so hungry and tired. My body is trying to revolt against this diet. I don't want to give up.
My head is spinning from reading all the diet suggestions on this website. Ex. Take in at least 25g fiber per day, take in less than 40g fat per day. etc. etc. It is soooo hard. I'm just trying not to eat too much and that's about the most I can do.
If I were a millionaire I would hire a cook to make exactly what I need with the foods I like.

MOMofTeen, Sorry that yesterday was a bad day for you...You weren't alone. I had seconds at dinner, I am too ashamed to even put it in my journal!! The tiredness will go away once your body adjusts to the changes you've made. In looking at what you ate yesterday, I would suggest eating more breakfast. Preferrably add some protein at breakfast. I know for me if I don't eat enough early in the day-- I fight hunger all afternoon and evening and by the time its dinner time my willpower is gone!!! One day and one pound at a time--we will get there! Great job on the exercise yesterday!!!!!

Some days are harder than others and all the info out there can truly make your head spin. I just focus on eating the healthiest foods I can find that are satisfying and have the most nutritional value but I always allow myself a treat each evening - I love the Skinny Cow fudge truffle bars, ice cream sandwiches, etc. A snack that is very filling and satisying for me is one cup of blueberries with 1 container of fiber one yogurt mixed with the berries. It's only 1 WW point! Hang in there!

Hi there! I sure hope you've had a couple easier days since then! I find that I simply can't have sweets around like brownies and cookies because I have NO self control and they are trigger foods for me. Once I start I just can't stop! I agree with the above comment about eating more in the morning and the more protein you can add the better. I added a protein shake to my morning meal. I love eggs, especially poached eggs, so I will have them a lot. I hope these ideas help and I hope your day is going smoothly.

Thanks all of you. It was just a bad day that day and now I am feeling not so hungry. Now I just need to figure out how to exercise earlier in the day. I am not settling down to exercise until after 10pm and get done and in bed until 11 or 11:30. Then getting up for work at 4am is just tooooo much! :) I just need to get more organized! (and kick the kids out of the TV room so I can Wii Fit earlier!)

There is no secret really - no special way to eat that is going to do more than one method than another. If you follow weight watchers, that is a great way - when I was faithful to it, I lost half a pound or one pound a week without being hungry. Ok, one secret: lots of vegetables! Good luck! My baby is 17 and I can't wait for her to move out!
