Well after completing phase 1 of the SB diet I tried phase 2. Unfortunately I wasn't able to continue losing weight on phase 2. I tried to keep the principles of the diet, but after plateauing ended up going back to my old habits. Though it only took me 2 weeks of the diet to lose the inches, I was able to keep it off for 3-4 months. I noticed that the weight was creeping back on about 2 months ago. At that time I told myself that we had a vacation scheduled in mid-July and if I hadn't lost any weight by 7/1/07 I was going to give Phase 1 another try. So here I am...

Measurements 7/2/07:
Arm: 14"
Rib Cage: 33.5"
Breast: 40.5"
Waist: 33"
Pouch: 36"
Thigh (Largest Part): 26.5"
Knee: 18"
Calf: 16"
Ankle: 9"

I'm feeling pretty good about the diet this time around. Last time I tried the diet under Dr.'s orders. This time it was my choice. I want to lose the weight to feel better about myself. Now that I had the crash course in SB dieting I have been able to find things to eat and come up with my own meal ideas which makes me feel less deprived.

I'm considering attempting a plan...complete Phase 1 of the SB diet for 2 weeks of every month until the end of the year. Maybe this will help me lose weight and keep motivation? I haven't really made up my mind, but I'm looking for motivation and compromise. It seems like I always have one or the other...but never both.

I've also purchased 2 work out videos to do at home, as well as some 3lb. weights and a balance ball. The videos don't look hard, but boy do I break a sweat! I have been trying to exercise on the diet this time, last time I wanted a benchmark of what the diet alone could do. This time I want to top that. Due to the vacation, I only have 10 days that I can dedicate to Phase 1, so I've decided to exercise in addition.

Wish me luck...oh, and now that I got a new password, I'll try to login more regularly.

You can do it ! Keep up the exercise, it will really help the loss, especially if your concentrating on phase 1. I bet you will see a change in measurements in no time !

i think your plan of phase one for 2 weeks a month is an awesome one. just as long as you don't go crazy during the other two weeks of the month, you know? i know how easy it is when you go onto phase 2 to lose track of things and get off course. in my case when i started having carbs and little sweets here and there, i just wanted to eat them so badly. which is why this time around, the only thing that has got me this far is pretty much sticking with phase one. I have introduced a little fruit, but thats about it. When i'm at home i eat really well, that way if we go away for the weekend or something and other people are providing the food, i try to eat as good as i can, but i don't 'worry' about eating in general. i'm sure if you really put your mind to it, you can do it!!!! we'll be here fighting that same fight with ya :)

Have you ever used a pedometer? Someone here mentioned that it was a great motivator and I have to agree. Hope that URL posts properly, if not just cut and past.
