barbabella's Journal, 13 May 12

I worked out yesterday morning, increased all my lifts by 5#, it is still easy. Only three weeks left until my vacation, which means 9 workouts, and as much as I want to go on holidays, I don't feel like taking a break from my training!

I went to the organic store where they always have those yummy treats, chocolates etc... and didn't buy any "junk" even though I was quite hungry, as always after strenght training. I have been on a no-sugar "detox" since April 1st, and beside a couple of minor slips I'm doing well! Life without sugar is better. I missed my fruit in the beginning, but now I got used to and it's not so bad. Between January and April, I was training hard five days a week to get ready for the competition, I was working physically almost every day and my body was totally exausted. My diet went out of control, I needed extra calories but was unable to make the right choices, too busy and too tired. After the competiton I took a coupke of weeks off training and decided to go on this "detox" and it was the best decision ever! I'm back to myself, no more mood swings, clear mind and strong body... Life without sugar is better!

Enough ranting, my dog is getting impatient I should go. Not sure if we are going for a walk or a run, I am at my boyfriend's and I don't know the trails around here... Oh well, as long as we go he will be happy!

Have a great Sunday!

Thanks! I participated in the Crossfit Games Open, it was quite an experience! 5 weeks, 5 workouts and of course I didn't qualify for the regionals or anything but I was really happy to keep in the competition for the 5 weeks. Next year will be better!
