tweetledee's Journal, 11 Mar 18

So I started this journey at 346.8. It was the Jan 9th. We didn't own a sset of scales. Never really cared that was a big girl. Never bothered me honestly. My man and I have been together for 14 years. I'm allergic to the sun but love the outdoors lol. I have 3 grown boys. My mom is big, my grandma was big it was just something I accepted. I always stayed under 300 so I was happy. I refused to get stuck in the dieting cycle. I got sick, and depressed for awhile and my hormones went nuts and I ended up weighing 346.8. Asthma. heart trouble, and borderline diabetis. I have had enough. I also used the excuse I can't afford new clothes if I did get smaller. But I have discovered a site called Swap.com. Its a consignment online store. I bought some clothes and these red pants I couldn't wear and it embarassed me cause they r 26's. so my son suggested since I was dieting I should keep them at least for awhile. So yesterday I tried them on again and I can wear them and they r not tight. My younger son 2 days ago said mom your arms look smaller. And my mom noticed my double chin is almost gone. I couldn't be happier. Im not going to end up in the dieting cycle because I like the food I'm eating. I'm driven and motivated and I like the idea that I can trade my big girl clothes in for a smaller size lol. I feel healthier. And watching my calorie intake I get to treat myself to that occasional hot fudge sundea or my glazed doughnut lol. Its all about moderation. And being honest with myself. I'm doing this for me and no one else. I'm doing it my wasy and its working. Time to take control of my health, my body. Time to b a better, healthier me!

Great post. I agree 100%. Moderation, exercise and calorie reduction. I understand about myself that if I feel deprived I will fail. But if I can work in a treat and stay within calorie limits I'm a happy camper. And at an RDI of 1300, I'm automatically eating more healthy foods in order to fit in those treat calories. And it's working. 12 pounds gone in 2 months. So congratulations on your success. I'm looking forward to reading about more success in the future. :)

Woo hoo, looking great! Keep your eyes out here too, sometimes people are giving away clothes they no longer fit into and they will send them to you for the cost of shipping :)

You have an excellent approach! Good for you! It's good that you found a store to purchase clothes and it's not too expensive. I hate spending money on something that I know I won't be using for very long.
