I am a 59 year old Grandmother of two. An 8 year old and a 5 year old. They keep Grandma busy and I am grateful. The loves of my life. I have been overweight most of my life. It was not until I turned 32 that I began to fall apart. I mean that literally. I started with Peri-Menapause, then my knees started falling apart. For a while I did the shots and that helped but after a few years it was over. I was bone on bone in both knees for just over 10 years and finally got knee replacement surgery on the worst knee almost one year ago. I have had multiple surgery's, infections, a shattered knee cap and other issues that have made this a less than steller experience. I am finally on the way to having this over and done. I am in wound care and I can finally say with confidence that the knee is stronger than it has been since the first surgery.
Now, I need to get on track with an eating plan that I know will work for me. I have developed Type 2 diabetes and so the eating portion of my life is different. I have to learn to balance carbs, while increasing fiber to stay fuller longer? Wish me luck.
