Just something I noticed about myself:
When I watch an episode of Hoarders I get the urge to break out the cleaning supplies and go to town on my house! Nothing like that show to inspire me to clean, sanitize and clear out clutter.
When I watch an episode of something like The Biggest Loser, I don't feel inspired - I feel annoyed! So I don't watch those shows!
One thing I have done is there are some series on Netflix that I watch only when I walk of the treadmill. This way I get one episode a day and it helps keep me interested and motivated! My husband installed a tv on the wall of the garage just so we could do that. Works better for me than just music.

Monday morning weigh in and I am down a little. Slow and steady will get the job done. I felt more hungry this past week so it was a little more challenging but I didn't stray. I am still walking 40 minutes a day on my treadmill but am thinking to either increase time or bump up the speed a little since I don't feel as tired when I am done.
I am still waiting for my sleep apnea machine to arrive. I wish it would get here already as I am sure it will help my energy level. I am so tired all the time and am not sleeping well. Yesterday I had a major headache which happens when I get exhausted.
Other than being tired I see progress in everything else. Thank you to everyone for sharing your stories. I read them every morning and it helps keep the motivation going!
Thanks
Sue

Losing 0.7 kg a Week
10 April 2014
I joined a couple challenges as a way to feel encouraged and motivated. It also makes me be more conscientiousness about using this website more effectively in addition to my phone app and fitbit.
But I am confused about the challenges. I signed up for two walking ones. One where we promise to walk daily for at least 30 minutes then another where we walk at least 2 miles each weekday. But when I click on my challenges there isn't anywhere to log my progress?
I do enter my activity on the exercise page of my calendar. I know I am doing the challenges but have no idea how the challenge knows I am doing it! (If that makes sense)
Anyway, I only weigh in once a week so that I do not obsess on numbers and instead just work on doing what I need to do to be healthier. I am sticking to my plan. I walk on my treadmill 7 days a week and stick to my daily allotted calories.
This site really helps. When you see other people in your same situation then you feel like your not going through it alone.

In January I decided I had a physical and a conversation with my doctor about my health. One aspect of my overall health plan was to lose weight. I am done with all these diets and fads. I simply count my calories using the Lose It app and walk 40 minutes a day on my treadmill, 7 days a week. I am now down 26 pounds.
When I first started walking I was only walking 30 minutes a day at 2.5 mph. I have gradually increased that so now I am at 40 mins a day at 3.1 mph. But I won't jog, walking is enough for me!
For meals, I eat what I want but try to make better choices based on the calories I am allowed through the app. Right now I am allowed 1444 per day as I have the app set for me to lose 1 1/2 - 2 pounds per week. I still eat McDonald's but only have the double cheeseburger and no fries. I have not had any soda since January and it has helped my headaches.
Some weeks the scale shows no loss, other weeks it shows several pounds. I try not to focus on the numbers and just stick to the daily routine. Numbers get you down too easy.
Instead I look at how much better I look. Still a long way to go but I can see my clothes fit different and some are getting too big so I won't be able to wear them much longer.
Motivation has always been an issue for me but this time my husband has been on board and very supportive. It isn't about what I eat, it is portion control. So far so food. Under 200 for the first time in years. 49 more to go to be at my goal weight!

Losing 0.5 kg a Week
23 September 2013
Found this site today and hoping to find the motivation to get off my butt and lose some weight. I seriously have trouble with motivation to exercise and without exercise it seems I hardly lose weight. I am at the heaviest I have ever been and do not like myself because of it. I know it affects my lifestyle and my confidence. I am hoping maybe an anon website like this will provide me with a support group without me feeling judged.
I also need to schedule a medical appointment just to be safe and get tested for hormone and thyroid levels. I have symptoms but don't want to blame weight on that when I know I do not eat well and sit on my butt a lot.
Here's to losing the weight and living a healthier life. My family has never judged me poorly in any way but I find myself never wanting to go anywhere because I hate how I look. Time to make the change!
