I've not been losing at the rate I had wanted to, so guess I've just not wanted to get on here and have to pubically admit it. My parents have had some health crises which is occupying my thoughts now a days. Actually, this is how I've lost my last 3 pounds. When I am in crisis mode, my body shuts down and I find it hard to eat at all. Some people chow down, but that's not how I'm built. Guess I can be thankful for that, but still not a good way to lose weight. I've basically quit following the EFS diet but am eating by it's principles, when I do eat.

Well, this is going slower than I had hoped (from the first 2 weeks), but then again I want to KEEP it off, so maybe a little slower is better. If I just would have started earlier so that by my son's wedding I'd be in better shape. Once again, I need to be focusing on the long term health benefits and not just the "what's confronting me NOW" reasons, and if I do I think I'll have a much better attitiude. Sometimes I'm just impatient. I have not battled weight my entire life, just the last 10 years, so maybe that's why I'm so impatient with this whole thing. But, I need to listen to myself....I just said "TEN YEARS", which means it's taken me 10 YEARS to put this 35 pounds on, so why would I think I could just dispose of it in a month or so??? Silly me! And, besides, I don't expect to lose ALL 35lbs, that's not my goal. After all, my body has shifted and changed through the years and that is not a reasonable expectation. I will be thrilled to be 120 again...and that would be a good healthy weight for me at this stage of my life.
Bad news: won't be able to do my treadmill for a while as my foot is hurting for the first time in a while, with my Morton's Neuroma. Yuck. Maybe will try my eliptical to see if I can manage that.
O.K........here goes another week!

Losing 0.9 kg a Week

Well, guess I should be glad I am still losing, and I am, however I am discouraged about the amount. The first 2 weeks went SO well at 4lbs loss each week......and I knew I blew it the 3rd week, and knew I picked it back up this last week, so I was really expecting better. So, what can I tweak? Hhhmmm....for sure I can kick up the exercise as I am barely doing ANY right now (like 25 min of treadmill, maybe every other day). Also,on snacking: I admit I've grabbed a couple grapes here and there....and NOT measured out the hummus...as well as doing 3 snacks instead of sticking with only 2. On meals: I AM good at sticking with the menu for the day, but sometimes I look at the overall meals for the day and combine them differently. It's hard for me to do 4 (got the 3-meal-a-day mentality)....so I will do better on that.
To reach my goal now, I'll have to steadily drop 3 pounds a week for the next 6 weeks. Rotation City, here I come.

With all the lentils we on EFS Diet eat, I thought some might like to read this article I found on them. Very inspiring stuff! I knew they were healthy, but not to this extent. So when we grow weary of eating them (I love them, so honestly it will take a lot for me to get to that point!), this should help inspire us to eat them anyway!
