Okay, so I have done a lot of thinking about what went wrong for me--why I let the stresses around me (which weren't really that major when I think about it) derail me, and why I felt like my only comfort was in the food that I knew I didn't really want to be eating. Part of the problem was my own lazy slide into bad habits, but the other part is the bare bones fact that I just can't do carbs. Period. Of course, I have to have some carbs in my diet to be healthy, but I can't do brown rice, low-carb tortillas, whole grain bread, etc. I just can't. Maybe someday I will be able to, but at this point, I can't handle them. They send me over the edge. The past few days I have had nothing but meat and veggies, and I haven't even noticed the candy bars that are waving at me from across the photo counter. I don't even feel that hungry when it comes meal time--and I AM losing weight. But a girl cannot subsist on meat and veggies alone--one must have variety. Fortunately, I discovered the 1-minute flaxseed muffin which is awesome with my breakfast and has not made me miss biscuits at all. Better however, than the flaxseed muffin is the "You won't believe it's cauliflower" pizza crust recipe. I made this last night, and OMG! DF loved them--I couldn't make pizza fast enough. It was amazing. If you have not tried this, you should and the recipe is here on FS, look under "Cauliflower pizza crust" (and for those of you who already know about this, thanks for humoring me, I'm excited!). I am posting a pic so that you can see that yes, it really is pizza. I was able to pick it up by the slice and eat it with my fingers like regular pizza, and I took some leftovers for lunch today and it held up after reheating. The crust is made entirely of cauliflower, mozzarella cheese and egg--that's it! It was awesome and my life has been revolutionized! I CAN HAVE PIZZA! I can't stop using exclamation marks! (Oh, and plese ignore my dirty stove, I was making tomato sauce and then there was a flurry of crumbs flying--it's usually clean, I promise!)

Yeah! Today DF and I went and picked up a Weslo Air Strider that someone had listed on Craigslist for $20. I have been wanting some piece of fitness equipment in the house so that I wouldn't have any excuses for sitting on my butt. I have a real mental block regarding exercise, but I'm hoping that if I have a piece of equipment in my face ALL the time, I will be more motivated to use it. I have also mentioned on here many times that I feel self-conscious when I workout at the fitness center, so I'm hoping that some in-the-house equipment will help me overcome this stumbling block. I know that my paranoia is a product of my own mind, and that I need to get over it, but I put so much stress on myself about needing to overcome it that it then makes me even less inclined to go and also makes me want to eat in order to overcome the crazy feelings I have. One day, I hope, I will be able to approach fitness in public with a better attitude, but until then the Air Strider will just have to do. It seems to work well, and I like how it works the arms as well as the legs. At this point I am most interested in burning calories, but I am hoping to pick up some resistance bands soon so that I can begin toning. Can't wait to update y'all on all of the great exercise I'm getting in!
