Progress! The scales finally gave way after 3 weeks...
Instead of obsessing about the scale, I moved away from it for the entire week and just focus on running as many miles as I could - 16.5 miles and had kept my calories within budget.
Normal BMI here I come!

Losing 1.7 kg a Week
21 February 2015
It's all about cause and effect. Cause: went to movies twice this week and every time I couldn't resist the popcorn and the cookies. Then, I also slacked off on my running this week - didn't push hard enough for the planned 16 and ended 4 miles short. Effect: it set me back a pound.
Tomorrow is a start of a new week. It's all about redemption!
I've been inspired lately by Team SCA the only all women team in Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15. Their story
No Ordinary Women
is currently showing in a 4-part series on Nat Geo People. These women mostly in the 30's and 40's were training to compete in an extreme offshoring race around the globe and seeing how they train and put their all is simply admirable. For me they epitomize real beauty. They are strong in body and mind - simply, truly beautiful!

Gaining 0.4 kg a Week
19 February 2015
Still stuck at same weight for more than 2 weeks now but I'm taking it all in stride. As the hubby points out, it took years for me to gain it so why would I expect anything less to lose it? As usual, he is supportive in his own quirky way. :) I look up to him and consider him a weight expert though I'm pretty sure genetics is also largely at play. He has same weight as the day I met him 20 years ago and haven't seen him fuss about weight, exercise or diet or anything of that sort ever. Anyway, the hubby did offer an advice to keep things as is (say for the next 2 weeks) and try to observe whether weight would still be same and then try to adjust from there. Did I mention his is very logical?
Happy Chinese New Year! Take it slow with the dim sums and moon cakes.
