Losing 3.4 kg a Week
26 April 2013
Well we just got back from the Caribbean. In the eight week leadup to our vacation, I was diligent with the types of food I was eating but not so diligent with the portion size. I now feel better (health-wise) because of the modified nutrient mix. I now also use gravity exercises (pull-ups, pushups, etc...) to build muscle. Unfortunately, in retrospect, more cardio would have been a good course to follow as well as I have some muscle tone in the right areas, but I still (in my opinion) have too much belly fat. And therein lies the hitch...sadly, I am only focussed on the things that I did not accomplish, not focussed on the results that I did achieve. I think we all struggle with that (to some extent) on a daily basis and how we deal with that goes a long way to our mental state in everything else that we do.
So going to the Caribbean has confirmed some things for me.
1)
How you view yourself is not the same as how others view you
. Most of us tend to be more critical of ourselves that of others...most of us.
2)
If you're not happy with who your are, don't expect the happiness of others to motivate you
. Ultimately, you are doing this this for yourself, not for them. You have the choice to be happy, don't let others dictate when you are.
3)
Accept gracious compliments and ignore backhanded remarks
.
Some people don't know the difference and say stupid shite. Know the difference.
It is important to acknowledge your hard work and realize that it takes time to undo the habitual things that got you to this point in the first place. Use this acknowledgement to fuel your drive to do more...never give up on the things that are important. In this journey, you must be a little selfish to get things done.
