I am constantly amazed at how different my life is today... Two years ago my average daily steps were about 232 and on busy days, where it took me 5-7 hours to grocery shop I might have gotten up to 1727 steps. I don’t know what I was doing that day, but it was probably grocery shopping. I barely moved and not because I didn’t want to, but because I couldn’t.

My every waking moment was filled with tremendous pain. Every move I made hurt, so I stopped moving unless I had to. I can tell you, my muscles wasted. I used to be so strong and lifted weights for years, but when I became a mom and started really pushing the high 200s and then into the 300s... I let myself go.

What is amazing is that now, on lazy days... days where I just want to hang around the house and be a loaf (because we all have those days)... I still move around a considerable amount for doing nothing. On days where I am not vegging out, like today... I am really moving... and let’s not forget, without pain. I can do whatever I want, when I want, and I don’t feel like death afterwards!

To go from a busy day meaning maybe 1700 steps, to a a typical busy day being almost 15000... is truly a victory I celebrate and I am so thankful for.

The ability to walk and run is something people take for granted... I never knew how much walking meant until I barely did it.
