Reports of my demise were only slightly exaggerated. My health took a serious turn for the worse this week, major medical interventions later and I'm back at home, but not doing so well.
I really just need an entirely new body. This one has some major design flaws. I'm not sure that it will be livable, even with major renovations.

I made it past the cravings yesterday, but they're still here. I might not survive today.

The cravings are bad today. I just can't seem to be satisfied or feel full of "good" foods, all I can think about are the "bad" ones. Fried dough crusted in sugar in various formats keeps racing through my brain. Baked goods covered in cream, (whipped-, ice-, and -cheese icing) dance behind my eyelids. Empty carbs as far as the mind can see, and the thousands of calories that come with them.
The fact that I didn't get to weigh in today (away from home and my bathroom scale) means I'm missing that little bit of willpower seeing the numbers drop would give me. I have a treat planned for later this week, a friend's birthday cake. I just don't know if I can stand the craving until then.
Cross your fingers for me, FS buddies. This ride may get bumpy.

Just a little bit at a time, and I'll get there eventually. Keep drinking my water, keep eating many small meals instead of gorging on big ones, keep avoiding nutrient-free carbs (like sugar and flour, not my green leaves and veggies), keep moving, keep making many small healthy choices and I'll keep making many small healthy gains.
This is not a single, heroic, one-time effort. There is no battle to win, no goliath to stand over, victorious for all time. Health is a garden that needs tending with a gentle touch. You plant and water and weed, you work with the soil and sunlight that you are given, and over time it will blossom.
A horrible storm swept through my garden of health this winter and destroyed everything. It's taking a lot of work to put things right. All the beds were mangled, and while I rebuilt the basic earthworks, I couldn't even start planting. It's easy to despair when you don't know when, or even if, things will ever bloom again.
But hope is a choice, and a healthy one. And it's the hardest one I've been making. I'm grateful to all my friends who are helping me to keep making it.

Another day, another hurdle. Groceries and house cleaning are on the menu. Nothing exciting, just the little bits of maintenance that keep everything rolling along.
Anyone have anything exciting panned for the long weekend?
